Smart Alecky Fan Hexagons
I admit it: I am opinionated. And I like to print out my opinions onto fabric using my computer printer and Bubble Jet Set. One of my favorite color combinations is black and white and pink. I have two 50 lb. paper boxes full of black and white prints so it was no trouble to pull out several dozen to combine with Fan Hexagon blocks using pink prints.
By carefully locating where I printed on the paper I could put two sayings onto one piece of fabric attached to a standard 8.5″x11″ piece of paper (to feed through the printer). I varied the Font style in each saying so I could, if necessary, adjust the font to fit a longer saying. The bottom three sayings are my own; I also used others I found on the Internet. I printed them out then used the center acrylic template piece to cut them out so they could be pieced into the Fan Hexagon. Please notice the center print. I like to use the Fan Hexagon full hexagon template to fussy cut from my printed fabrics. Don’t know when I will get this one done but I’m having fun working on it!
You could, of course, embellish this tall center piece in other ways, such as embroidering some vertical linear floral design or couching some yarn or doing beading or even a trio of pretty buttons.
